Cricket Australia (CA) is all set to enhance the experience for Indian fans during the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy by creating dedicated seating areas at all five venues, including the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

This initiative was announced by Johann Dias Jaysingha, the National Operations and Media Manager of Cricket Australia (CA), on Tuesday, May 14. The Australian Cricket Board wants to develop a vibrant atmosphere for the Indian Cricket Team fans to enjoy every bit of the much-awaited Test series.

These special fan zones will provide Indian fans with designated seating, ensuring a supportive and spirited environment throughout the upcoming five-match Test series between Australia and India. CA has urged Indian fans to secure their tickets in these specific zones to fully enjoy the experience.

The Indian fans are also encouraged by the CA to wear blue jerseys and bring musical instruments like Dhol to add more excitement to the lively atmosphere anticipated in the upcoming high-stakes Test matches between the two cricketing powerhouses.

Further details on the India Fan Zone for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, including ticketing information and additional guidelines, will be provided soon. It sounds like the fans will have a memorable cricketing experience for the Indian fans in Australia.

Cricket Australia (CA) said in an official statement: “Aligned with Cricket Australia's Multicultural Action Plan, these fan zones will foster an inclusive environment for Indian cricket fans, promising an electrifying atmosphere. Fans are encouraged to secure their seats in the Indian fan zones, embracing the vibrant atmosphere by donning blue attire and traditional instruments like the Dhol for a family-friendly experience.”

Notably, this is the first time that CA has introduced fan zones for their Test matches.

Australia versus India Test Series 2024/25 Schedule

Meanwhile, the action-packed Border-Gavaskar Trophy will kick off at the Optus Stadium in Perth on November 22. Then, Australia and India will face each other in an exciting day-night test at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on December 6.

The five-match Test series will continue to thrill the fans with a clash at The Gabba in Brisbane on December 14, followed by the Boxing Day Test on December 26 scheduled at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne.

The Australia versus India Test series will end with the Pink Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on January 3, 2025. Notably, Australia and India will compete in a five-match Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the first time since the 1991/92 season. This series will offer both teams a chance to strengthen their standings for next year's ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final.

Australia won the most recent WTC final against India at the Oval last year. However, Indian cricket has recorded consecutive Test series wins on Australian soil since 2017, and they would love to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year as well.
