Richard P. Farina Sr. WebsiteFarina, Richard P. Sr. “Papa”, of Cambridge, passed away on May 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at age 89.

He was the devoted husband of Georgina “Jean” (Goffredo) Farina.

Loving father of Richard P. Farina Jr., Linda Jean Varroso (who pre-deceased him), Peter J. Farina and Joseph C. Farina.

Beloved father-in-law of Judith Farina, Robert Varroso, Christine Nikas and Sara Farina.

Cherished grandfather of Melissa Foley-Procko, Sarah Persichetti, Michele Farina, Nicole Farina, James Farina, Rachel Hussey, and Joseph Farina.

Adored great grandfather of Alyssa Persichetti, Adam Persichetti, Lilianna Iovino, Audrey Procko, Christian Persichetti, Richard DiPerna, Olivia Iovino, Natalia Farina, and Rosalie Linda Kuhn.        

Dear brother of the late Jean Hamilton.

Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.  

Papa and his wife Jean “GG” were happily married for 67 loving years.  He was a hardworking man always there for anyone in need and deeply devoted to his family.  He was a gifted landscaper and gardener, enjoyed fishing and summers at the cottage in Hull and of course Jean’s cooking.  He was a member of the Son’s of Italy in Arlington, and a former member of the Men’s Prayer Society at St. Patrick’s Church in Cambridge.

Papa was a man of great and devoted faith, always praying to Saint Padre Pio.   He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren; they brought great joy and laughter to his life.  

Visitation at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge, on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 am.

A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11:00 am.

Interment will be at the St. Michael Cemetery in Boston.
