I’ve never seen any. Have I been looking in the wrong places?
Tomorrow being The Preakness, I had a “ backstage tour”as it were, at the racetrack. One of the areas we visited was the stable area of the US Marine Corp Mounted Color Guard.
They get their horses from Bureau of Land Management lands. The horses are then trained by prisoners at a correctional institution in Nevada before being turned over to the Marines.
I just found the whole thing fascinating.
Especially when the one horse had a sign on his stall indicating he was part of a herd of wild horses in Red Rock, Nevada!
So. Where can I see wild horses near there?
( The rest of the tour was very cool, too. Especially some up close and personal photo ops with the Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan.)
