The ongoing spat between legendary rocker Sir Rod Stewart, 79, and TalkSport presenter Simon Jordan, 56, shows no signs of slowing following the Maggie May singer's latest rant.
Stewart and Jordan's row first hit headlines earlier this week when the 79-year-old diehard Celtic fan took exception to the radio presenter's scathing assessment of the Scottish football system.
Jordan had been embroiled in a fiery on-air debate with Scottish football legend Graeme Souness in which he argued Scottish football's top teams would struggle against any of the clubs in England's top two tiers before Stewart's statement.
Stewart took to Instagram to urge Jordan to "shut the f*** up" and "back off" when it came to his opinions on Scottish football, branding the TalkSport star "motor mouth" and saying he is "sick and tired of the constant deriding and disrespect" Scottish football receives.
Jordan was informed of Stewart's initial remarks while on-air with co-star Jim White yesterday and pulled no punches with his reply.
He said after reading Stewart's initial rant: "He is from bl**dy Highgate [London] for crying out loud. I only attack Scottish football because it is a low-hanging fruit – which is incidentally what you would find under Rod's kilt if you looked."

Jordan went on to sarcastically call Stewart a "national treasure" and didn't want to "offend" him before unleashing another attack on the state of Scottish football and Stewart's hometown.
"Why would anybody be talking about Scottish football? He should be thanking me for talking about Scottish football – especially since coming from Highgate he should be supporting Arsenal or Tottenham," Jordan quipped.
The former Crystal Palace owner laid out his argument once more turning his attention back to Stewart and saying: "Rod Stewart – as far as I am interested in his witterings – attack the argument. I make the point about Scottish football. He says he is fed up with people down south where he lives criticising Scottish football, but it is like an emu mentality – he is burying his head in the sand."
Jordan went on to sign off by encouraging Stewart to put together an argument in favour of the Scottish game, but the constant jibes at his ties to Scotland prompted the Do Ya Think I'm Sexy hitmaker to share on Instagram: "The whole world knows I was born a Londoner so no big expose there.
"Half the Scottish National team have English accents, we can't all be Rob Roy.
"Criticise Scottish all you want Jordan I'm fully aware of its shortcomings. But it's the derogatory, sanctimonious, disrespectful way you do it mate. End of story," Stewart signed off in his second rant of the saga.
The row between the two comes after Stewart's beloved team Celtic were crowned Scottish champions on Wednesday evening.
The team saw off Kilmarnock in and emphatic 5-0 victory which led to Celtic being crowned champions for the 12th time in 13 years.

Stewart's latest outburst is a marked difference from another of his recent public appearances in the Scottish city of Glasgow.
The 79-year-old surprised pubgoers in the city by performing an impromptu set for punters who watched on in delight.
Footage from the night soon went viral on social media, with a TikTok of the occasion being viewed thousands of times since.
