Dundee owners John Nelms and Tim Keyes have called an Extraordinary General Meeting of shareholders to invest £9million worth of shares into the club and clear their mounting debt.

The Dens Park club had a stellar season on the pitch under Tony Docherty, finishing in the Premiership top six and narrowly missing out on Europe.

Largely expected to be at the lower end of the table after promotion from the Championship, they performed well above expectations and established themselves back in the top flight.Concerningly though they did it against the backdrop of staggering losses off the pitch.

Dundee's latest accounts, released last month, reported a £2.8m deficit, and though that included a costly season outside the top flight, it was reported they expect to run at a similar loss again this season.
