Driver hospitalised after two-vehicle rush hour crash

A driver has been hospitalised after a two-vehicle crash in North Plymouth yesterday, Thursday, May 17. Police were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the A386 near Roborough in North Plymouth at around 4pm. One of the vehicles involved appears to have been a Jaguar XF which was badly damaged in the collision.

Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene. The road was closed for a number of hours while crews attended.

One of the drivers was rushed to hospital following the crash. It is not thought that their injuries are life-changing or life-threatening.

Commuters faced major delays across the city yesterday due to the crash. There was congestion through Roborough and Woolwell and delays on Tavistock Road.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called at around 4pm on Thursday 16 May following reports of a two-vehicle crash on the A386 at Roborough, Plymouth.

“The ambulance service was also called and a road closure put in place. A driver was taken to hospital but is not believed to have suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries. The road was reopened shortly after 7.30pm.”
