Here are five storylines to watch on Wednesday when Orlando City SC host Inter Miami CF:

Doblete de Muriel

Orlando City Designated Player Luis Muriel found the back of the net this past weekend for the first time since joining the Lions for Atalanta of Serie A this offseason, scoring a screamer of a goal from outside the box in the 41st minute to take the lead over the Union and a breakaway goal barely 30 seconds into the second half for the game-winner over Philadelphia. The Colombian also earned the secondary assist on Duncan McGuire’s opener in the game. Muriel was awarded a spot on the MLS Team of the Matchday for the first time in his career.

Continuing to Chase Them Down

2023 MLS SuperDraft selection Duncan McGuire continued to move up Orlando City’s all-time scoring charts this past weekend, tallying his 21st goal across all competitions and tying former Orlando City forward Tesho Akindele for seventh on the list. McGuire is now just one goal away from tying former Lion Chris Mueller at 22 and three away from tying Dom Dwyer for fifth at 24 goals all-time.

Climbing on Up

Uruguayan forward Facundo Torres will be looking to climb the ranks even further on Orlando City’s all-time scoring chart in Club history this weekend. Torres’ next goal will be his 32nd all-time for the Lions and will take him past former captain Nani for sole possession of second place in Club history. Torres has already scored four goals across all competitions in 2024 and has played two consecutive games in which he’s contributed to a goal, with one goal and an assist across that span.

Lodeiro Lights it Up

Midfielder Nico Lodeiro was crucial to Orlando City’s attacking efficiency in the Club’s 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park last Saturday, providing the assist on all three of the Lions’ goals on the night. The helpers were his fifth, sixth and seventh of the season across all competitions for the Lions respectively and was the 15th career multi-assist game of his career, the most amongst active players in Major League Soccer. The Uruguayan playmaker was honored with an MLS Team of the Matchday Bench appearance.

50 For Gallese

With the win over the Philadelphia Union over the weekend, goalkeeper Pedro Gallese recorded his 50th regular-season win for Orlando City and his 60th across all competitions. The Peruvian goalkeeper is Orlando City’s all-time leading goalkeeper in regular-season appearances (113), minutes (10,170), clean sheets (30) and wins (50), while he ranks second in regular-season shots (450) and saves (302) behind former Lions goalkeeper Joe Bendik. Gallese made four saves in the win, including an 88th-minute stop on Daniel Gazdag’s attempt to equalize from the penalty spot, earning himself a spot on the MLS Team of the Matchday bench for his efforts.
