Congratulations to our Y13 award… | Hills Road Sixth Form College

Congratulations to our Y13 award winners of 2024!

The Student Awards celebrates many of our students’ amazing achievements over the past two years! Well done to everyone who has worked so hard this year, attended and organised this incredible event!

The Student Awards

The Student Awards act as part of our Y13 groups send off! We want to celebrate our students' successes and recognise all the amazing hard work they’ve put into both their academic studies and the wonderful activities they take part in outside of the college.

Each year, Hills Road staff members nominate students who they believe have gone the extra mile. There are three categories voted on by staff which include:

  • Creative and Confident Learners
  • Resourceful and Resilient Individuals
  • Responsible and Active Citizens

Students also get to have their say about their peers that they believe are their:

  • Best Study Buddy
  • Most Thoughtful Person
  • Friend Most Likely to Cheer Me Up

Congratulations to all our Y13s who have worked so hard this year! We wish you all the very best of luck with your exams and future outside the College!

Jack Merrit Award

Jack was a former Hills Road student who died during the terrorist attack at Fishmonger Hall at London Bridge in November 2019.

Following his time at Hills Road, Jack went on to work as a course coordinator for the Butler Law Course with the University of Cambridge's prison rehabilitation programme, Learning Together.

Jack lived the values of community: serving those less fortunate than himself with compassion, courage and kindness. The College chooses one student each year who goes well beyond the College’s expectations as a Responsible and Active Citizen.

Many congratulations to Sofiia Tereschenko for winning the Jack Merritt Award! Sofiia has truly gone above and beyond the College's expectations of what it means to be a Responsible and Active Citizen. Sofiia's non-profit organisation and applications have helped the lives of thousands of refugees by providing vital support!
