I have a confession...

Reverse Harem - Recommendations

I actually love a miscommunication trope 🫣 if it's believable!

My favourite kind of angst is when the FMC feels like the guy/s don't care about her. Stuff like "she thinks they're only with her to meet some purpose (e.g. fake dating, arranged marriage, etc) and they don't really care about her" or "they have to keep her at arms length for a reason but she takes it to mean they don't care/want her".

I'd love something where the guys reinforce this belief through their behaviour unintentionally; I'm not looking for bully or books where the guys are clearly all in and the FMC just has poor self-worth. I want my heart to ache for her and be rooting for them to work out 🥹

Doesn't have to be the whole harem either, can be just one or some of the guys.

If anyone has any recs that fit the bill I would be super appreciative, please!

So... I also have a confession. I thought I hated this trope. And I've recently realized these are the books I can't put down because I physically feel the angst and need to see them through the communication issues.

That being said, if you like fantasy, I'm currently reading the Court of the Fae Princes series. The first book is {Shadow of the Crown by Lacey Carter Anderson} and HOLY HELL is there miscommunication. I'm about a quarter of the way through the 3rd book and they still haven't figured their shit out but like in a good way? It's an extremely slow burn but I don't even care anymore. I'm about to stay up way too late reading tonight to see how they resolve their issues!!
