Meghan McCain Gives Final Thoughts On ‘The View’
Meghan McCain is giving her final thoughts on the talk show she co-hosted for four years, The View. Though she did not have the best experience, that does not necessarily mean she has left with a bad taste in her mouth. So, what did the mother of two have to say? Keep reading for more details.
Meghan McCain Gives Final Thoughts On The View
In 2017, Meghan McCain took her official seat as a co-host on The View. This a talk show where all voices and opinions are welcomed. As a more conservative person, Meghan let her side be known and never held back. However, that could also be detrimental to her position in the group. One thing that Meghan always acknowledged was how lucky she was to have gotten the job. More so, she understood how many people would have killed for that position. Unfortunately, it was anything but a great experience:
“Working on The View is a big job, people watch it, but for me, it was like in The Devil Wears Prada where it’s like, ‘a million girls want this job.’ What I thought I wanted was the most miserable I was in my entire life.”
She exited in 2021 after she gave birth to her first child. The View OG and co-host Joy Behar had made a snarky comment about not missing Meghan when she was away on maternity leave. That was hard for the new mom to handle especially when it was supposed to be a very beautiful time. Now, Meghan is speaking out, once again, about the show. According to Page Six, she is sharing if she would ever go back to The View.
She noted that “there’s not a chance in he**” producers would ask her back but, either way, she would never return. Meghan McCain added:
“I’ve had kids since then. I really like my life right now and I feel like it’s taken me a long time to sort of get to a place where people are seeing me as more serious. I’m 39, I’ll be 40 in October, and there’s something about pushing 40.”
Plus, people are starting to see beyond her formerly “spoiled” persona. Meghan believes it has to do with the fact that she is a mother who works.
Where She Stands With The Ladies
Meghan McCain may have left The View but does she have any communication with the ladies of the show? She did spend four years of her life there so does she have any connection left? Unfortunately, all ties seemed to have been cut:
“I don’t talk to any of the main co-hosts that I was with, but I still do have friends, that work on the show and people that I made relationships with. But I never want to say who because I don’t want them to get bullied for still being my friend. Like, I don’t want them to be publicly or privately bullied. And I actually have.”
In a twist, Meghan shared that she has maintained friendships with former show hosts who were there when she was not. They include Rosie O’Donnell, Jenny McCarthy, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She noted that:
“It’s kind of a weird club. Like, it’s a weird, you know, it’s like a weird thing to be a part of a weird TV history.”
