I 100% trust Rodgers to get it right.Timdom come wrote: ↑9:41 PM - 18 days agoIt's a game I absolutely trust Rodgers to get right.Gdlavery wrote: ↑9:33 PM - 18 days agoJust to add, I'm absolutely not looking at Saturday's game as any kind of gimme. It will be a tough match.
For all Rodgers record vs them is brilliant, it's still a one-off game of football and there's every chance we could lose if things don't go our way. We're a superior team but I'm absolutely expecting some dodgy officiating in their favour and anything can happen in football.
But the man has earned our faith when it comes to this fixture and then some. As a support we have to go into this one with total belief our manager, our captain and our team will have the skill, the know-how and the courage to get the job done.
after the latest round of games I 100% don’t trust the officials to be fair or get stuff right.
That’s what gives me the absolute fear.

His style in Europe needs to be different from his style domestically. His preffered style simple isn't suited to domestic football in Scotland
Hopefully the performance and reaction from the stadium yesterday will convince him to ditch that proffered style
They have played like that with that high tempo style that we saw yesterday several times domestically and in Europe this season but more often surprisingly (not) when our best players are available. Also you just can’t play like that all the time even when all of your best players are available and fully fit.
Do you still think, in the event of winning the league over the next few weeks that we should start from scratch and sack our current manager?

Both of those groups of players were "signed by recruitment"JohnRobertson wrote: ↑5:29 PM - 18 days agoI don’t know why they’ve not been capable of turning in that level of performance regularly.stewmil23 wrote: ↑5:07 PM - 18 days agoI agree with McStay. we played great yesterday but it begs the question if the team and the manager are capable of a performance like that, why can't they do it more consistently? people were rightly saying it was the best performance all season, yet we've had to wait till near the very end to see it. I know we can't hit those heights every week, but surely it's not too much to ask that the team raises their level on a more regular basis?
Maybe it’s got something to do with having our better players out injured for huge spells of the season and those who came in and those signed by recruitment being dreadful and, when our better players comeback and get their match sharpeness by a coincidence, our performances improve

It's the same in every round of games. Yesterday was spectacular but really just the latest instalment in how obvious can it be.Franakamura wrote: ↑7:53 AM - 18 days agoI 100% trust Rodgers to get it right.Timdom come wrote: ↑9:41 PM - 18 days agoIt's a game I absolutely trust Rodgers to get right.

This does not fit the narrative of many who post on this thread…JohnRobertson wrote: ↑5:29 PM - 18 days agoI don’t know why they’ve not been capable of turning in that level of performance regularly.stewmil23 wrote: ↑5:07 PM - 18 days agoI agree with McStay. we played great yesterday but it begs the question if the team and the manager are capable of a performance like that, why can't they do it more consistently? people were rightly saying it was the best performance all season, yet we've had to wait till near the very end to see it. Shame on you for making very valid points.
First game since October that Hatate, O Riley and McGregor start together and are fully match fit and we play some really good stuff and able to give the defence more cover because some of our players can move!
I would never expect Saturday's performance every week from any Celtic team.
So many extenuating factors at play. The atmosphere, the magnitude of the game at the business end of the season, and it being Hearts.
I was racking my brain and it has been a real long time since we had an absolutely crucial, must win game at home at 3pm on a Saturday after the split.
Rightly or wrongly, you're just never going to get that same intensity from the stands and it feeding off onto the players in November against Ross County at home or whatever it might be.

I think Rodgers himself maybe struggles to get up for the domestic cannon fodder we play (probably part of why he left first time round). That translates to the players. When it comes to big games and business end, he is up for it, and so are they.

I certainly hope this isn't the case. I don't believe it is but if it is he'd be just as well packing his bags before the season is finished. We Never Stop wrote: ↑10:41 AM - 18 days agoI think Rodgers himself maybe struggles to get up for the domestic cannon fodder we play (probably part of why he left first time round). The idea that he's above this team or league needs to be washed from people's minds (not saying that that position is your one by the by We Never Stop).

Came across this and couldn’t agree more. I hope it’s something that the club address in the summer and spend to properly recruit, although it’s wishful thinking knowing how this club operates.
The best teams and best managers operate with a proper defensive midfielder, something we’ve neglected for ages.

I agree. which is why I said we can't hit those heights every week. But I think, given the huge disparity in resources to the rest of the SPFL, we're entitled to expect better performances on a more regular basis than what we've been seeing this season.san meegs wrote: ↑9:40 AM - 18 days agoI would never expect Saturday's performance every week from any Celtic team.

At least if Brendan leaves or gets sacked ( neither will happen ) Davie Moyes is available .
If you haven’t noticed we’ve scored 34 goals in our last 11 games.stewmil23 wrote: ↑5:18 PM - 17 days agoI agree. which is why I said we can't hit those heights every week. It’s turns out that getting a bit of form from the wingers, Hatate back, Idah instead of Oh for the last 20 minutes and a bench that doesn’t rely on Bernabei, Holm and Yang and we’re MUCH better.
It’s not very complicated.
we were garbage against Aberdeen just a couple of weeks ago off the top of my head.Timbers wrote: ↑5:26 PM - 17 days agoIf you haven’t noticed we’ve scored 34 goals in our last 11 games.stewmil23 wrote: ↑5:18 PM - 17 days agoI agree. which is why I said we can't hit those heights every week. Yeah we weren’t great that day but we’ve been trending up for a while now is the point. Plenty to build on now.stewmil23 wrote: ↑5:30 PM - 17 days agowe were garbage against Aberdeen just a couple of weeks ago off the top of my head.Timbers wrote: ↑5:26 PM - 17 days agoIf you haven’t noticed we’ve scored 34 goals in our last 11 games.

not great against Dundee either. start of 2nd half was particularly poor.
No offense I don’t want to go round in circles endlessly highlighting every poor-ish period of games.
Point is we ARE and have been improved for sometime now. Let’s just kick on and hope for great things this weekend.
can't really see the improvement in performance that you mentioned in your earlier post. I gave you 2 recent matches which seem to contradict your assertion. the performance against Hearts was such an outlier that there were loads of comments about it, best of the season, etc. if we'd improved so much it wouldn't have attracted such praise. anyway, no point going round in circles as you say. hopefully we get a repeat showing against the huns on Saturday.Timbers wrote: ↑6:08 PM - 17 days agoNo offense I don’t want to go round in circles endlessly highlighting every poor-ish period of games.stewmil23 wrote: ↑5:47 PM - 17 days agonot great against Dundee either. start of 2nd half was particularly poor.
