On Wednesday, May 1st, all of the players in the Portage Warrior Baseball program, as well as hundreds of supporters, including family members, community members, fans, and stakeholders attended American Family Field for a day of baseball. In this rare doubleheader, the first game featured the Milwaukee Brewers against the Tampa Bay Rays, followed by a varsity high school game with the Portage Warriors taking on the Pardeeville Bulldogs.
The opportunity for the Warriors to experience a major league baseball ballpark was made possible by the collaborative efforts of the Milwaukee Brewers organization, local sponsors, family members and supporters who purchased a ticket to the Brewers game, and the Portage Athletic Department. Being able to step on to American Family Field was not only a thrilling experience for the players but also a source of excitement and pride for the Portage community. The large amount of families, friends, and community stakeholders that gathered to show their support and celebrate this occasion highlights the profound impact that sports can have in bringing people together. The Portage Athletic Department would like to give a huge shout out and thank you to all who made this possible for our team.
We would also like to thank Rebecca Timme for sharing her talent of photography with us by capturing our baseball team playing at American Family Field. Rebecca’s generous donation of her time and effort in photographing the team and then editing all these photos is greatly appreciated. These stunning mementos will be treasured by players, coaches, and fans alike. When you see Rebecca around town, please extend our immense gratitude for her community spirit and skill in capturing our team.
GO WARRIORS!
