Barça 7-0 Athletic Club: No let up from the Champions

Another exhibition from Barça Women in the Estadi Johan Cruyff as Jonatan Giráldez's team made light work of Athletic Club with a 7-0 win on the day the team celebrated winning the league title with the fans inside the stadium. 

Mariona: 300 games and a brace 

Athletic Club performed the traditional guard of honour for the league champions as the sides came out on to the field in the Estadi Johan Cruyff. Also, before the game there were moments for both Patri Guijarro and Mariona Caldentey who have both reached 300 appearances for Barça Women in official competition. Striker Caldentey celebrated in the best way possible by giving the blaugranes the lead from the penalty spot after 9 minutes. 

Before the half hour was up, Barça were 3-0 up at home to the Basques. First, Bruna Vilamala scored with a shot from distance before she turned provider for Vicky López to make it three. The crowd of over 5,000 were not finished and there were more goals after the break. 

Spectacular second half 

Esmee Brugts added a fourth with a near post finish on 56 minutes and Vicky López scored her second of the game to make it 5-0 on the hour mark. Mariona crowned her 300th game for Barça with her second of the evening and the Club's 3,000th in the league in the first and second divisions. 

Ona Batlle rounded off the win with just over a quarter of an hour to go with Barça Women now having their sights set on the Copa de la Reina final against Real Sociedad on 18 May and the Champions League final in Bilbao against Olympique Lyonnais a week later.
