Jennifer Lopez Fuels Ben Affleck Split Rumors By 'Liking' Cryptic Relationship Quote

Jennifer Lopez is fueling Ben Affleck split speculation with her latest move on Instagram.

Amid rumors that there is trouble in paradise — People reported on Thursday, May 16, that the couple haven't been publicly photographed together in 47 days — Lopez "liked" a cryptic post about relationships. (Per E! News, the couple were also photographed — separately — by paparazzi that same day and each were still wearing their wedding bands.)

In an upload shared by relationship coach Lenny Marsak (@yourcourageouscomeback) in March — but recently "liked" by Lopez — the carousel was made up of five slides depicting traits of a partner who won't be able to be in a "healthy relationship."

"You can't build a healthy relationship with someone who ... lacks integrity & emotional safety ... doesn't respect your time, doesn't think it's important to call/text back in a reasonable time frame ... lacks effective communication skills = silent treatment, withdraws, refuses to communicate unless it's on their terms ... doesn't know who they are or what they want," the five slides read, along with an explanation on each as to why these characteristics aren't conducive to a "healthy" romance.

The caption reads: "You can't build a relationship with someone who is disconnected from themselves. We can't expect someone to see us when we can't even see themselves. Getting in a relationship is the easy part. Nurturing & fostering it is a different story. After all, love is not a feeling, it's action ❤️."

On Thursday, Marsak noted she was aware of Lopez's "like."

"Just logged on to IG and noticed @jlo liked my post. Jlo or her PR team, I'll take it," she wrote on her Instagram Story alongside a screenshot of Lopez's official Instagram account "liking" the upload. "I'm still in shock," the coach added next to a screenshot of TMZ's coverage of the story.

The next day, the coach told her followers in an Instagram Story video to "please be kind to Jennifer Lopez because she's a human being."

"I do not know if they're getting divorced," she shared. "I hope not."

Lopez and Affleck, long referred to by the portmanteau "Bennifer," famously reunited in 2021 — 18 years after they called off their original engagement in 2003.

While the "Waiting for Tonight" singer went on to marry Marc Anthony in 2004 (with whom she shares teenage twins) and the Oscar winner wed Jennifer Garner (with whom he shares three children), they found their way back to each other years after their respective divorces and soon after Lopez called off her engagement to Alex Rodriguez. Lopez and Affleck tied the knot in two different ceremonies in 2022.

In February 2023, the Grammy winner got candid about her initial split from the Gone Girl actor — noting their relationship was now going to "last forever."

"Once we called off that wedding 20 years ago, it was the biggest heartbreak of my life, and I honestly felt like I was going to die," she told Apple Music's Zane Lowe at the time. Now, however, she noted: "True love does exist and some things do last forever. And that's real. I want to put that message out to the world."
