The queen of Bollywood Aishwarya Rai debuted at the Cannes film festival in 2002. Ever since then, the former Miss World has spellbound audiences with her extravagant and glamorous looks at every screening she’s attended, year after year. Her first red carpet at the Cannes in 2002, when her iconic ‘Devdas’ film was screened, no-one could have guessed that this young Indian sensation would be an irreplaceable part of the prestigious film festival.
Not soon after making her debut at the French Riviera, she was chosen to be a part of the Cannes jury, marking her as the first Indian to ever assume the role. For her first ever Cannes appearance, Aishwarya donned a golden saree designed by the iconic fashion designer Neeta Lulla. She had arrived at the Cannes film festival for the screening of her highly celebrated “Devdas” with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shah Rukh Khan. Aishwarya proudly showcased her cultural and traditional roots opting for the opulent saree, accessorised by a jaw dropping gold necklace, regal bangles and earrings.
