Hi everyone,
I've had a long hard think about where me and my boyfriend could go for vacation this summer and we got stuck on Sicily. We are both students so our budget is small and I found cheap flights from Prague to Sicily so we thought that would be a good option. HOWEVER, I am set on travelling in a way that is kind to the people, local economies and the environment of the place I'm travelling to, basically I don't want to disturb locals or spoil these places for people.
So I've been looking around for a small hotel/B&B/Airbnb close to a nice beach (I know no one wants that right), within a smaller community (I don't require much just maybe one restaurant or store), that I also can reach by public transport... and yeah, realised this is a wet dream out of reach for my small budget.
How we picture our vacation is basically to enjoy the sea, try some nice local cuisine, have some good wine and see how life in Sicily is. We don't have the budget or the time to travel around the island which is unfortunate, that will have to be in the future when our budget is a bit bigger and we can spend at least a month there. SO to my question, if anyone knows a place that might fit this sort of trip, ever heard of a place, or live in that place and don't mind two students popping in, please give me all your advice. Even if you say "Taormina can be really nice if you stick to the small businesses" I am very happy to hear that.
Kind greetings from Prague :)
