INGRID LEONORE JULIA MISNER

November 14, 1973 - May 9, 2024

Beloved mother, daughter, sister, cousin, friend and über talented professional photographer, Ingrid passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, with her daughter and immediate family at her side after a fierce and courageous battle with cancer.

Ingrid was born and raised in Toronto, travelled across Canada in her early career, and chose to settle in Winnipeg to raise her daughter while establishing a well-respected professional photography career. Ingrid will be greatly missed by many family and friends that she kept close contact with in both Ontario and Manitoba, as well as across the country.

Predeceased by her beloved mother, Brigitte Misner (née DeCokere), grandparents, Urbain and Maria DeCokere, Heinrich and Leonore Misner, and pooch Weston; she is survived and missed by her daughter, Joone Forzley, father, Udo Misner (Betty), brother, Steven Misner (Michelle), Onkel Rainer (Tanta Veronica), nieces and nephews, Stefan and Gabriella, Mikaela and Rebekah, and cousins, Tanja (Angelo), Andrea as well as many friends and business colleagues across Canada.

The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses, health care aides, and many special family and friends, both local and who travelled from far distances, to support Ingrid’s relentless perseverance during the swift and intense illness.

A cremation has taken place with arrangements by Hunter Funerals. Please join us at a Celebration of Ingrid’s Life on Saturday, June 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 603 Wellington Crescent in Winnipeg. In honour of Ingrid’s zest for life, we will play her favourite music and invite those who attend to wear her favourite colour: orange! Another Celebration will take place in the Toronto area in the fall, Ingrid’s favourite season. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to CancerCare Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Ingrid was a member of Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) Manitoba for many years. She was a great artist and was meticulous in creating beautiful portraits and outstanding architecture and interiors of many hotels across Canada. She won numerous awards and served on the Board of PPOC-Manitoba. She was a colleague and friend. I fondly remember our last visit a couple years ago when she dropped by and we chatted on my deck for a long time catching up on each other’s lives. Ingrid will truly be missed. - Posted by: Marlene Fast (Photography colleague ) on: May 21, 2024

  • Ingrid took photos for my wedding celebration 27 years ago. She was indeed an artist. Our deepest condolences to Joone. - Posted by: Nadene Marlatt (Client) on: May 19, 2024
