Anya Taylor-Joy is gunning for that red carpet queen crown at this moment when Zendaya’s not promoting anything and we applaud her efforts. It’s good for everyone if an ambitious climber comes along to shake things up a bit. Her approach to the Furiosa press tour has yielded a high number of clearly meant-to-go-viral moments, which is how the red carpet game is played now in a post-Barbie world. To be fair, this isn’t the most shocking or upsetting scrolldown you’ll encounter this year. Probably won’t even make it to the Top Ten. But if you thought she might be wearing a romantic strapless gown, we wanted to make sure you didn’t spit your drink out all over whatever device upon which you’re currently viewing this. Anyway, we don’t hate this. We’re not mad at it. But we did roll our eyes just a little. This was always where the sheer skirt trend was heading. Eventually, they were just going to become completely invisible.
