Jakala, Mary Ann (Spencer) MaryAnn Jakala, 87, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. She was born on September 13, 1936 in Minneapolis to William and Myrtle Spencer. She was united in marriage to John Jakala for sixty-five years. MaryAnn graduated from Washburn High School and Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and later at Cedar Pines Nursing Home. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was selfless and the one that kept the family organized. She spent many hours driving her sons to practices and games for various sports. Volunteered at the Special Olympics, Nativity of Mary Church, Creekside food pantry, and the Knights of Columbus to name a few. Survived by sons John, Charlie (Jane Hay), and Mark; four grandchildren: Allyson (Logan Walker), Drew, Will, and Emma; three great- grandchildren: Evelyn, Abigail, and Ellianna; sister Carol (Jim Nelson); a niece and many nephews. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, Friday, May 24th, at the Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 9900 Lyndale Ave. S., Bloomington, MN with visitation one hour prior to mass, followed by lunch at the church.
