As Cavallari explained, she found out what the person who was staking out her gym looked like from her personal trainer. Then, she spotted the man "wandering around" her gym while wearing a suit.

For obvious reasons, seeing the man she'd been warned about made Cavallari so freaked out she hid from him in the bathroom. From there, Cavallari tried to get away from her stalker by using a separate exit to leave before they knew she was gone.

Based on that part of the anecdote alone, it should be clear that dealing with her stalker would have been traumatizing for Cavallari. After all, even for people who've never been stalked, it is easy to imagine how unsettling it would be to be so afraid of someone you hid in a bathroom.

Sadly for Cavallari, however, the anecdote she shared during her May podcast episode got even more unsettling. According to Cavallari, her stalker was so desperate to have contact with her that they slashed her tire.

As Cavallari explained, despite hiding in a bathroom and using another exit, she still wound up walking by her stalker as she tried to leave. The reason for that is Cavallari says the stalker was "standing at the entrance on his phone" as she made her way to her car.

Unfortunately for Cavallari, she says that her stalker spotted her leaving and began following her in his car. When Cavallari pulled up to a stoplight, the stalker pulled up beside her and motioned for her to put down her window.

According to Cavallari, once her stalker caught up with her, he tried to act like a good Samaritan. "He goes, 'You have a flat tire,' and I go, 'What?' Then my flat tire thing went on, so he knew I had a flat tire before my car knew I had a flat tire."

Since the stalker realized she had a flat before her car's sensors did, however, Cavallari concluded he'd slashed her tire. Cavallari stated during her podcast that the stalker later confirmed her suspicion that he was responsible.

During Kristin Cavallari's aforementioned podcast episode, she revealed that she confronted her stalker once she learned about his family. Amazingly enough, it seemed like the power dynamic between her and her stalker instantly changed after that confrontation.

As Cavallari explained during her podcast episode, her stalker begged her not to get a restraining order after he realized she knew his identity.

'He was married with kids, begged not to file a restraining order. I was, like, 'No, f**k you. You were stalking me at my gym and you gave me a flat tire to what? Save the day?'"

In April 2015, an article from NBC Chicago revealed how successful Cavallari was in her attempt to get a restraining order. According to the outlet, Cavallari received a "no stalking order" immediately after the incident.

Cavallari later had the protective order expanded to include her family. That meant that David Berkowitz was ordered to stay at least 500 feet away from Cavallari, Jay Cutler, and her two children. In 2015, Cavallari had that order extended until April 2017.
