Hallstatt to Vienna

Hi we will travel from Hallstatt to Vienna by train.

I understand we can either take all the way OBB to HBF, or change to Westbahn to Westbahnhof.

Apart from purchase online ticket, can we purchase from Hallstatt train station ?

Yes, that's possible, but you have to pay the full fare then.

Thanks very much Michael for the advice.

I note in OBB apps there is einfach raus ticket which is for group of 2-5 passengers.

We are a group of 5 adult. Can we use it on trip from Hallstatt to Vienna ?

Yes, if you only use local and regional train services (REX, R, CJX, S), express trains like RJX, RJ, ICE are excluded. In order to see itineraries that can be used with the ERT you have to "activate" "Einfach-Raus-Ticket" in the options, shown in ÖBB's trip planner "Scotty".
