Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon has made a surprise announcement for Legally Blonde fans. In a new social media post, Reese revealed a new prequel series about Elle Woods was officially in production.

Launching on Amazon Prime Video in 2025, the series will take a look at the lawyer’s life before university, focusing on her life as a “regular ‘90s high school girl’. ‘Elle’ will give viewers a glimpse into her experiences before Harvard, and what shaped her into the icon she came to be.

‘Elle’ is produced by Reese’s company Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios. Reese shared a video of the announcement, donning Elle Woods’ unforgettable Dolce & Gabbana pink suit.

She captioned the video: “Before she became the most famous Gemini vegetarian to graduate from Harvard Law, she was just a regular ‘90s high school girl. And all of you are going to get to know her, next year on @primevideo I’M SO EXCITED!”

In the video, the actress can be seen being given a hot pink script, which reads, ‘TOP SECRET SCRIPT’. As Reese transforms back into her iconic character, the screen reads: “Something pink is coming…. And it’s scented! Go back in time to meet the young… Elle Woods. New series coming to Prime.”
