Oleksandr Usyk is relatively small for a heavyweight boxer. After all, he is the undisputed cruiserweight champion who moved up. With two victories over the significantly larger Anthony Joshua and his latest victory against Daniel Dubois, he has proved size doesn’t matter. However, Tyson Fury, his upcoming opponent, is a different beast.

Usyk has weighed nearly 220lbs in his heavyweight fights. For context, Dubois weighed the 230-240 lbs range, and Johsua weighed the 240- 250 lbs range. However, Tyson Fury at 6’9″ has weighed around the 270lbs range. Despite the size, Fury is also more agile than Dubois and Joshua. Nonetheless, Usyk does not see a threat, as evidenced by his interview with DAZN Boxing.

He's [Tyson Fury] big, tough, very big. But size doesn't matter. If size matter, King of Animal would be elephant.

For Usyk, skill and mind matter more than size. Nonetheless, he did agree that Tyson Fury is the biggest challenge in his professional boxing career. Even though he considered his Olympic Gold medal more valuable than the undisputed title, he revealed that the upcoming fight against Fury is the ‘Big Exam.’

Tensions are high in both the Usyk and Fury camps. Recently, John Fury had headbutted a young man from Usyk’s camp. It brought much attention to the undisputed title clash this weekend. Nevertheless, Usyk is not a fan of such incidents, as he considered it bad for the integrity of boxing.

For Usyk, respect is an important part of boxing. As such, he felt what John Fury did against his teammate was wrong. Usyk spoke on the incident and his thoughts in the interview with DAZN Boxing’s Ade Oladipo.

It's bad behavior, for me...We [are] professional athletes. But we're not street fighters. But we're not hooligans...You're [John Fury] famous. People watch you...I think it's bad because, yeah, it's [a] show but this is a bad show. It's dirty show.

Usyk had already beaten one big name in UK’s heavyweight boxing – Anthony Joshua. The Brit could not figure out Usyk the first time and the rematch. Though the latest victory over Daniel Dubois was controversial, many predict Usyk to become the undisputed champion.

Fury’s last fight was against Francis Ngannou, which he eked past with a split decision. However, many believe Fury underestimated Ngannou. As such, many boxers, including Canelo Alvarez, picked Fury to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.
