Compass Academy Network (CAN) Offers Kids Summer Learning

JOPLIN, MISSOURI. APRIL 25, 2024 - Compass Academy Network (CAN) is thrilled to announce its expansion to Neosho, Missouri for the summer of 2024. With strong programs in both Joplin, Missouri and Columbus, Kansas, CAN will add a free summer enrichment program for middle school students in Neosho in collaboration with the Neosho School District beginning in July 2024. CAN`s mission is to provide a free enrichment program to students entering grades 6 through 9, extending their success in school by engaging in a summer program filled with fun and challenging activities. From academic enrichment activities in creative writing, mathematical reasoning, art, and civics, to fun and educational weekly field trips, CAN offers an unforgettable journey of exploration and discovery. CAN helps students develop self-confidence and organizational skills and gives them the support and tools they need to develop into student leaders and engaged citizens. CAN Regional Director, Syeda Greenlee said, "Compass Academy Network is partnering with schools and educators to provide an exceptional opportunity that is certain to positively impact students' lives." Students from rural school districts entering grades 6 through 9 are eligible to attend CAN`s free 4-week summer program. To qualify, students must have a grade point average equivalent to a "B" average (3.0) or better plus a recommendation from a current teacher or administrator. Preference is given to students whose families qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced lunch program. Reward Program: o Students who complete the program will receive a $45 Walmart gift card for school supplies. o School districts with 15 or more students who complete the summer session are eligible to receive a CAN Partner Grant of $5,000 for middle school needs.
