Jarvis/Spires headed to State Pairs Championship

TORRANCE, CA (5/3/2024) -- Sonsi Jarvis and Janell Spires just keep winning. After advancing to the 3C2A SoCal Regionals as the No. 5 seed, they needed just one win to advance to the 3C2A State Pairs Championship. And they did just that. 

They faced the No. 28 seed from Orange Coast College and easily won 2-0. They dropped their next match, but were able to finish off their third match of the day victorious to return for Day Two. 

They faced San Diego Mesa College's No. 1s for a fourth time this season, and after defeating them twice, the Olympian duo bested Jarvis and Spires to end their Regional run.

The duo will be seeded as the South No. 11 seed in the state championship tournament. Round one will be played in pools and in two waves. Jarvis and Spires will be in the afternoon wave on Friday at 1 p.m. They will face the No. 3 seed from the SOuth in their first match and the No. 6 seed from the North in their second match.
