Darren Jack Goon OBITUARY

July 13, 1969 – July 20, 2016 Darren, a resident of Vallejo, passed away on July 20 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Concord, he was raised in Lafayette by Drs. Jack and Timalyn Goon. He is survived by his twin daughters, Jasmine and Keiana; his father Jack, and his brother, Kevin. He is preceded in death by his mother, Timalyn.

Darren graduated from Acalanes High School and graduated with his Bachelor’s of Science degree in landscape architecture from U.C. Davis. Later he earned his Masters degree in Public Administration from Cal State Hayward. His work experience included Drafting Technician (City of Oakland), Assistant City Planner (City of Vallejo), Resource Development Manager (Global Center for Success) and In Custody Employment Specialist (Leaders in Community Alternatives LCA).

He was passionate about serving the Lord in his church community, reaching out to people in need, tending to his fruit trees and a variety of plants, cooking, hosting gatherings, and spending time with his precious daughters.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. at New Life Church, 2501 Danville Blvd., Alamo, CA 94507. In lieu of flowers, contributions to benefit Darren’s daughters may be sent to The Darren Goon Separate Property Trust, c/o The Law Offices of Ian S.
