Prison Break star Sarah Wayne Callies reflected on her time working on the show, and she revealed that she "put up with" a lot of things she now wishes she hadn't tolerated. This includes feeling subjected to "rampant misogyny" along with the difficulties of being the "only woman around" on set.

The comments come from a discussion on Rachel Bilson's Broad Ideas podcast, per Deadline. While Callies didn't specifically name anyone who'd mistreated her, she hinted that she would "get there on the podcast" one day, referring to the Prison Breaking podcast she co-hosts with Paul Adelstein (Agent Paul Kellerman). With that noted, Callies claimed she had a co-star spit in her face at one point, and she can still recall telling her husband about what happened, and then talking him out of putting someone into the hospital in retaliation.

“I mean, like, I’ve had an actor on that show spit in my face. And I was like, ‘Holy s***," Callies said. “We will talk about it someday, but there were… There were things. Like, I would go home some nights and have to spend an hour talking my husband out of going to hospitalize somebody."

Callies clarified that her issues were not with everybody on the set, noting that "some of the guys were great, and some of them were totally gentlemen." She also discussed how it felt to revisit the series with the Prison Breaking podcast, which she says feels like "sort of medicine to go back." However, she admitted to feeling leery about doing the podcast at the start, concerned that it would get too worked up by recalling what she'd endured on the set.
