Just gave it a go and it works really smoothly, the emulator is easy to set up and the buttons are interesting, but it works with a controller as well.
It's always been possible thanks to Symbian and Java emulators. It's the sequel that's unplayable because it's iOS-only.
Ah dang, here I was thinking this was the sequel, sad.
How about Crash Nitro Kart 2 for java phones? That one is also pretty nice and it's been playable for years
It is emulatable if you use a phone via J2ME-Loader

Even then, you can play the iOS version of the first game via touchHLE, so it may only be a matter of time before we see CNK2 playable through that emulator as well.
