Winnipeg police seize weapons, cocaine, fentanyl from downtown apartment: WPS

Police say a 23-year-old Winnipeg man is facing multiple charges after officers allegedly seized several weapons, drugs and cash from a downtown apartment Saturday morning.

The Winnipeg Police Service says it was called around 6 a.m. to the apartment complex on Cumberland Avenue near Carlton Street for the report of a man with a gun.

Police say officers arrested the man “without incident.” Three other individuals inside the suite were also arrested.

The WPS says “several items were noted in plain view” within the home. Officers seized:

  • Colt .41 revolver that police claim was stolen;
  • Air pistol (converted to accept .22 ammunition);
  • Collapsible baton and butterfly knife;
  • Various ammunition;
  • 60 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $6,000);
  • 56 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value of $8,300);
  • 233 grams of psilocybin (estimated street value of $2,300);
  • Packaging materials.

Police say they also seized $2,300 in cash.

Caleb Roch, 23, is facing multiple charges including possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking; and failure to comply with the condition of a release order. He was detained in custody.

A 27-year-old woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

A 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were released without charges.
