Wanindu Hasaranga and Shakib Al Hasan share the top spot in T20I-rounders rankings

Delhi, India – May 15 (ANI): As the T20 World Cup 2024 approaches, Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan are currently tied for the top spot in the updated rankings for T20I all-rounders. The top five players on the T20I-rounders rankings are separated by just 23 rating points.

Shakib Al Hasan, the all-rounder from Bangladesh, saw a drop of three points after his recent performances in the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. This drop allowed Sri Lanka’s T20I skipper, Hasaranga, to join him at the top spot. Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi follows closely in third place, just 10 rating points behind.

In the recent updates on the T20I rankings for batters, Ireland’s Andrew Balbirnie climbed six places to 53rd position after a strong showing scoring 128 runs in three games against Pakistan. His teammate, Harry Tector, also moved up 12 spots to 69th following his 98 runs in the same series.

Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman moved up four places to 57th in the T20I batters rankings, while Imad Wasim climbed 24 spots to tie for 52nd in the bowlers list and reached 16th place in the all-rounders list due to his exceptional performances against Ireland.

On the T20I bowlers list, Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed moved up three places to 23rd, and Mustafizur Rahman climbed five spots to 25th after impressing in matches against Zimbabwe.

Currently, Suryakumar Yadav of India leads the T20 batting rankings with 861 points, followed by England’s Philip Salt in second place with 802 points. Axar Patel is the lone Indian bowler in the top five bowlers list, standing in fourth place with 660 points.

As the teams gear up for the T20 World Cup, the competition is heating up, and players are continuously striving to climb the rankings and make their mark in the world of T20 cricket. (ANI)
