Bee lodge posts erected in eight locations in village

Clondalkin Tidy Towns (CTT) are carrying out a bee-related biodiversity project in the village.

The group have been placing eight “solitary bee lodge posts” in Clondalkin village over the last two weeks.

Cappaghmore Residents Association also erected a bee post on April 30.

All the bee posts are sponsored by Grifols in partnership with the Irish Bee Conservation Project (IBCP). Solitary bees are better pollinators than hive bees and do not sting.

As well as accommodating bees, the posts are information points, having facts on the bees in Irish on one side and in English on the other.
