Carmelo Hayes Takes Aim at Main Roster Veterans for Getting ‘Too Comfortable’

Since he was drafted to the blue brand as a part of the WWE Draft 2024, former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes has stolen the spotlight. The former NXT star challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed Championship on the night of the draft and showed valiant effort before being pinned by the champion. 

Right after his match against Rhodes, Hayes moved on from the storyline and went on to challenge Bobby Lashley for a feud. While both men were seemingly in line to have a match against each other in the next couple of weeks, the Almighty got injured which has seemingly postponed the feud between both men. 

In a recent appearance on The Masked Man Show, Hayes addressed his thoughts about top WWE stars like Bobby Lashley. The former NXT Champion stated that the top guys of the company felt too comfortable on the top with money flowing in. However, the newest member of the blue brand revealed that he was coming in strong without any hesitation. 

“I feel a lot of guys up on that main roster, they’re just comfortable. They’ve been there for a long time. They’ve been making a lot of money for a long time. You got somebody like me coming in, I haven’t experienced the things that they’ve experienced … he’s right about that. I haven’t had all the accolades that Bobby’s had, I haven’t had all those things. I’m not coming in quiet and I’m not coming in timid; I’m coming in strong.”

“Like I said, they’re comfortable and I’m coming in to make everybody uncomfortable. I want them to know that I’m there, want them to feel my presence, I want them to see me as a threat. I’m not intimidated by anyone up there, like the same energy I brought in the Black and Gold, where I said, ‘Well, why can’t that be me?’ That’s the same way I look around that locker room on ‘SmackDown.’ Why can’t that be me? You know, that’s why I went and challenged Cody Rhodes on my first night because, you know, why can’t that be me? So, Bobby is going to feel what Bobby is going to feel.”

Carmelo Hayes has already got the world talking about him with his intense in-ring skills and loveable attitude. A few good feuds could define him as one of the best stars on the brand in the simplest way possible with the star having immense talent in himself.
