Watch: Metsola And Zelensky Press Conference Cut Short By Air Raid Siren

A joint press conference by European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was cut short by an air raid siren.

A visibly upset Zelensky responded by saying: “This is what the Nazis do in Europe. This is the reality of Europe Day for us Ukrainians.”

He then asked Metsola how she was feeling. “I’m OK,” she said.

They then were escorted to shelters, together with the delegation of Maltese journalists.

Air raid sirens are an almost daily occurrence, sometimes several times a day, and indicate that Russia is about to attack with missiles or aircraft.

During the press conference, Zelensky presented Metsola an Order of Merit First Class for her bravery and courage since the start of the war.

Zelensky thanked the international community for their recent shows of financial support, but said it would take weeks and months to be able to defend Eastern Ukraine from Russian military initiatives.
