Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 69th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 on Sunday, May 19, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. PBKS won the toss and elected to bat.
Atharva Taide and Prabhsimran Singh provided a dream start to PBKS and added 97 runs for the first wicket. Rilee Rossouw and Jitesh Sharma also made some important contributions. Prabhsimran was the highest scorer for the team with 71 runs off 45 deliveries.
PBKS scored 214 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. T Natarajan was the pick of the bowlers for SRH, taking two wickets for 33 runs in four overs.
SRH lost their first wicket on the very first delivery of their innings. However, the other batters didn’t let the chase get derailed. Abhishek Sharma was again at his best and played a knock of 66 runs off 28 deliveries. The middle-order batters made some decent contributions as well.
SRH reached the target of 215 runs in 19.1 overs with four wickets in hand. Arshdeep Singh and Harshal Patel took two wickets each for PBKS.
