If there’s one Frenchie who has given Americans a run for their money in recent years, it’s Dylan Ferrandis. Between 2019 and the end of 2021, Ferrandis showed them in all areas on his way to accumulating two US titles in SX 250 and two in MX outdoor, one of which was in the 450 elite category. But since 2019 between covid and various injuries, Dylan has never returned to perform in front of his legions of tricolor fans. On November 16 and 17 at the Paris La Défense Arena, this major anomaly will be repaired, and just like Tom Vialle in SX2 category, Dylan Ferrandis will represent the French hopes in SX1. So no “Frenchie” (not even JMB) has won as many titles on American soil as “DF14”, which is enough to put the Southerner on a very high pedestal in the history of French supercross. But what forged his legend was the style with which he won these titles against the greatest riders of his time (including the legendary Eli Tomac, Ken Roczen, Cooper Webb and Chase Sexton for the 2021 MX title). A style that can be summed up in one word: “GRINTA”! Behind a handlebar, Ferrandis is a beast.
That’s why we know and love him. And we can’t wait to see him come home for this event.
In 2024, at the helm of a new team in Phoenix Honda, Dylan showed some very nice things (top 6 and by far best “privateer” over the first three events) before an injury and lung infection derailed his Supercross season. Returning healthy for the last two SX rounds of the season, the Frenchman is aiming for a summer at the front of the AMA Pro Motocross championship and we should hopefully see him on the podium soon.
With Jett & Hunter Lawrence, Cooper Webb, Dylan Ferrandis, Vialle and Shimoda confirmed for the 2024 Paris Supercross, it’s shaping up as a thunderous 40th birthday celebration for showpiece race.
