Despite the polarizing reception among viewers, the film series became a huge hit thanks to the star-studded cast of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, and many more. Unlike the novels, the film had many faults, that would make it feel disconnected at times.

Naturally, when you would watch the film for the very first time, you would either love it or absolutely don’t care about its existence. Christian Bale falls in the latter category as he gave his opinion of the franchise featuring The Batman actor.

The Love-Hate Relationship of Twilight and Its Fans

The film series was a massive hit as it featured different elements of fantasy, romance, and horror, that appealed to its teenage audience, making it a commercially successful film. However, the series received immense hate from people because it ruined the Gothic and horrifying image that had been given to vampires, and werewolves.

Even though Robert Pattinson’s Twilight Series is hated by the masses, it became a huge hit because the film looked appealing to its targetted audience, that is teenage girls. Thanks to Meyers, who gave sparkly skin to the vampires and how certain characters could turn into werewolves at their own will.

Stephenie Meyer did not intend to make her novel series a great piece of literature or cinema because the main purpose of her book was to please a specific group of readers and viewers, who were looking for a way to escape reality and delve into a fantasy world.

Hence, the best way to enjoy the film series is to not have high expectations that would follow all the traditional norms of vampires and werewolves. As a result, if you are looking for a romantic drama, then you can binge-watch it.

Otherwise, you can definitely laugh hysterically at the funny aspects of the films and wonder about the skincare routine of the vampires for such smooth skin.
