'Frozen' and its sequel grossed a combined collection of $2.7 billion at the worldwide box office, encouraging Walt Disney Animation Studios to go for a third edition of the film.

According to 'Deadline', Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed 'Frozen 3' On February 8, 2023. He said that he was happy to announce the sequels of some of the most popular franchises like Toy Story,' 'Frozen' and 'Zootopia.'

Walt Disney CEO indicates at 'Frozen 4'

Moving one step forward, while participating in the 'Good Morning America' show, he indicated that the company would not stop at the third edition, there might be 'Frozen 4' as well. Bob Iger said that 'Frozen 3' is in the works, there might be a 'Frozen 4' in the works, too. He added that Jenn Lee, who created Frozen, the original 'Frozen,' and 'Frozen 2' was hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but two stories.

Release Date

'Frozen' and 'Frozen 2' were released within six years of each other. While Frozen was released in 2013, its sequel hit the screens in 2019. If this timeframe is maintained, 'Frozen 3' should be released in 2026.

According to 'The Direct', it should hit the theaters on November 25, 2026.

Later, talking to 'Billboard', Idina Menzel confirmed her return to the film as Elsa. Participating in 'The Jimmy Fallon Show', Kristen Bell said that 'Frozen 3' was in the works.

According to 'The Direct', the star cast includes Idina Menzel as Elsa, Kirsten Bell as Anna, Josh Gad as Olaf, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, and Frank Welker as Sven.

'Frozen' podcast

Walt Disney launched a 'Frozen' podcast after the events of Frozen 2. Titled 'Forces of Nature', it introduced 4 new characters- Queen Disa, Lord Wolfgang, and two magpies called Astrid and Magnus. The series will have 12 episodes long, it could give away hints about what to expect from Frozen 3.
