Produced with a classic monochrome pallet, Martin’s high school project pulls audiences into the narrators world with palpable dread. The unnamed narrator recalls his obsession with the pale blue eye of an elderly man (Isaac Wynne) and ultimately murders him. Bizarrely, he is convinced of his own sanity despite his escalating paranoia.

Regardless of its modest production value, Martin’s adaptation remains faithful to Poe’s timeless tale. A riveting exploration of guilt, obsession, and the fragile nature of sanity. Martin does a fine job at conveying Poe’s story with his evocative imagery and tension building.

Yockey’s commanding presence elevates every scene, drawing viewers deeper into the protagonist’s unraveling mind. ‘Tell-Tale Heart’ may be a low-budget student film, but Martin’s artistic vision make this psychological thriller well worth a watch.
