LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — The Be a Part of the Cure Walk is celebrating its fourth annual community walk at the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
This is a yearly event to honor all Arkansas cancer patients and survivors, while also raising money for cancer research and treatment.
The walk has raised more than $350,000 since is conception four years ago.
There are 1,100 walkers expected to partake in the event, as well as other major community members.
There will be entertainment provided by the Townsend Rock Squad, Little Rock Central High School Drumline, Mount St. Mary's Academy Cheer Squad, Parkview Mimes, Meadow Park Elementary Cheer Squad and Drumline, and Catholic High Marine Corp Jr. ROTC.
The event is set to take place at War Memorial Stadium on May 4 at 8 a.m., with the walk beginning at 8:30 a.m.
