Bishop Manogue's Luke Swanson wins Northern 5A regional; Miners win team title

Bishop Manogue's Luke Swanson claimed the Northern 5A Regional boys golf championship Tuesday at Somersett Golf and Country Club while helping the Miners win the team title.

Swanson recorded scores of 74 and 77 in the two-day, 36-hole event with his 7-over 151 besting Galena's Rishi Gupta by a stroke. Reed's Tyson Timmons was third at 12 over.

Bishop Manogue won the overall event with a 64-over 640. McQueen was second at 92 over and Galena third at 104 over. All three teams advance to the Class 5A state championships next week in Las Vegas.
