Ever since I swapped to windows 11, my USB peripherals keep randomly - Microsoft Community

Ever since I swapped to windows 11, my USB peripherals keep randomly shutting down how do I fix this ?

so I understand windows 11 has a USB power saving option. That fixed the issue on the devices that have that option. Thing is my pc didn't have this issue on windows 10. This is effecting me negatively because any device that I have that is wireless aka my G pro wireless does not have the option to disable power saving. So now my mouse just keeps shutting off randomly and then coming back and it seems to be because of this issue, why is this even a thing by default and what can I do to fix this. My mouse does not have this issue on other computers just mine and all my other devices also have this issue but its manageable because I am able to disable power saving on those via device manager but as for my G PRO its unusable now because of this.

Hello, Nana Boakye1

Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Hello, it sounds like you are experiencing USB power management issues in Windows 11. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the potential issue:

1. Update Drivers: Make sure all device drivers are up to date, especially USB controller drivers and wireless peripheral drivers.

2. Disable the USB Selective Suspend setting:

You can disable the USB Selective Suspend setting to prevent Windows from selectively suspending USB devices to save power. Do this as follows:

Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.

Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section.

Right-click on each USB root hub and select "Properties".

Go to the "Power Management" tab and uncheck the "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power" checkbox.

Repeat this process for each USB Root hub.

3. Power Plan Settings:

Adjust the power plan settings to ensure that USB selective hang is disabled. Do this as follows:

Open the Control Panel and navigate to Power Options.

Select the current power plan and click "Change Plan Settings".

Then click "Change Advanced Power Settings".

In the "Power Options" window, expand "USB Settings" and set "USB Selective Suspend Settings" to "Disabled ".

After making these changes, restart your computer and see if the problem persists. If the problem persists, you can download Logitech's Ghub driver software.

Or if this is a critical issue affecting your workflow, consider rolling back to Windows 10, which can sometimes have compatibility issues.
