Now Yearbook 1980-1984: Vinyl Extra Vol 2

5LP coloured vinyl box

Now That’s What I Call Music are following up their 2022 vinyl box set of Yearbook ‘Extras’ from 1980-1984 with a second 5LP vinyl volume which covers the same period.

Yearbook 1980 – 1984: Vinyl Extra: Vol. 2 is the second (and final) volume in this series and features 78 tracks across five coloured vinyl records (each LP is pressed in the colour of the year’s original Yearbook).

Tracks on LP 1 (‘1980’) include Queen’s ‘Flash’, Paul McCartney’s top 10 hit ‘Waterfalls’ (the ‘DJ Edit’), ’A Forest’ by The Cure and Madness’ ‘Embarrassment’. Grace Jones’ ‘Private Life’ is included but actually features on the first record of the first box set (oops!).

The second record (1981) includes The Police, The Jam, The Human League, Soft Cell, Visage, Spandau Ballet, Heaven 17 and John Lennon, while highlights the 1982 disc (LP3) include Roxy Music, ABC, Haircut 100, Japan, The Associates and Gary Numan.

The box set continues in this vein with further singles from artists such as Duran Duran, New Order, Nick Heyward, Eurythmics, Ultravox, Nik Kershaw, Culture Club and many more. Full tracklisting is below.

The boxes are all numbered (2000 available) and Yearbook 1980 – 1984: Vinyl Extra: Vol. 2 will be released on 14 June 2024.
