On this Friday, Corinthians achieved another victory in the Paulista Sub-20, this time against Água Santa, at Fazendinha, by 2-0. Coach Danilo praised the three points and was pleased with the team’s performance.

The young Corinthians team performed above expectations in the first half, creating several goal-scoring chances but failing to score. The breakthrough came from a penalty kick by Pedrinho, who played his second match after recovering from a knee injury. The coach praised the impact the midfielder brings to the team.

“Nowadays, it’s rare to find that player, a classic midfielder who controls the midfield, plays the game. He has that characteristic, plays between the lines. Pedro adapted very well to our team, he was missed and we count on him in the upcoming games, he is a very decisive player,” commented Danilo.

While the ball was rolling, the Corinthians coach could not celebrate another piece of good news during the afternoon. Felipe Longo and Breno Bidon, champions of the 2024 Copinha, and Wesley, who was also coached by Danilo, were called up to the Brazilian U-20 National Team for next month. The coach expressed pride in reaping the rewards of the work done with the athletes.

“Here in the base we want to prepare these athletes not only technically, but also psychologically, to have a clear mind to move forward. They are doing very well in the professional team, an opportunity like this makes us very happy,” he concluded.

With this result, the young Corinthians team achieved their second consecutive victory in the Paulista Sub-20, totaling 13 points in second place. The team could have taken the lead, which remained with São Caetano, with 16 points, for having defeated Aster Itaquá by 2-0. Corinthians now shifts focus to the next Brasileirão round scheduled for Wednesday, against Goiás.
