Rainbow Six Siege faces persistent cheating issues, disrupting gameplay. So developers are stepping up their game and making massive changes to their Anti-Cheat system.

Cheating remains a persistent issue in multiplayer games, disrupting the gaming experience for all involved, and Rainbow 6 Siege is no exception. While Ubisoft has consistently addressed cheaters, recent developments have underscored the severity of the issue.

This season marks a significant advancement in the developer's approach to combating cheating, with enhancements to the Data Ban system shifting towards a machine learning framework.

Moreover, the sanctioning process has been streamlined, with bans now being executed more frequently, effectively halving the time it takes to remove detected cheaters using this model.

In tandem with these efforts, new Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) detections have been implemented to penalize offending players. Acknowledging the impact on players, Ubisoft assures that measures are underway to identify and sanction individuals exploiting these services.

What can we expect moving forward in Rainbow Six Siege?

Here are the things on which the developers are focusing to improve the anti-cheat system:

All addressed cheats:

The developers have made significant strides in addressing cheats since the Anti-Cheat Status Update, with several updates going live alongside Y9S1.3. Notably, there has been a notable decline in the use of rage cheats in recent months, reflecting the ongoing efforts of the developer team to combat new cheats and safeguard the game and its community.

Updates to the QB System:

Introducing QB System, a security measure on PCs designed to complicate cheat creation, making it more laborious, challenging, and costly. By creating a less hospitable environment for cheat creators, the aim is to diminish the prevalence of successfully developed and distributed cheats.Furthermore, MouseTrap, a system engineered to identify spoofing devices enabling the use of mouse and keyboard on consoles, has undergone enhancements in Y9S1, broadening its detection capabilities to identify more suspicious players.

Mousetrap and Penalty System Updates:

This season, there's a heightened emphasis on incorporating player feedback, with most changes directed at refining the existing system. The Y9S1.3 update is bolstering MouseTrap's accuracy by expanding its recognition of device types and refining the detection of identifiable devices. Consequently, the update aims to minimize false positives, preventing controller players from being incorrectly flagged.

Regarding MouseTrap penalties and matchmaking, in the upcoming Y9S4 update, the system's detections will be utilized in novel ways to enhance the experience for controller players. Specifically, if a player is detected using a spoofing device three times, the updated Crossplay system will automatically place them into the PC matchmaking pool for a 90-day period. This adjustment aims to promote fairer matches for controller players while affording users of spoofing devices a choice in their gameplay approach.

In conclusion, the developers' commitment to maintaining the integrity and fairness of Rainbow Six Siege remains steadfast. Their objective this year is to enhance both the security and responsiveness of the game in combating cheating. Cheating has no place in Siege, and the developers are resolute in their efforts to ensure that Siege remains a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
