Jazzmeia Horn Quartet

Hailed as “the next big carrier of straight-ahead jazz’s vocal tradition” by the New York Times, Jazzmeia Horn is the winner of the 2013 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and the 2015 Thelonious Monk Institute International Jazz Competition. She received Grammy nominations in the Best Jazz Vocal Album category for both her debut album A Social Call and its followup, Love and Liberation, and her first big-band album, Dear Love, was nominated in the Best Large Jazz Ensemble category. She continues to tour nationally and internationally while teaching and conducting outreach programs through the Jazz Horn International Vocal Initiative, and she is the author of Strive From Within: The Jazzmeia Horn Approach.

Pick-Staiger is a 972-seat hall located in the Arts Circle on the Evanston campus of Northwestern University. The main lobby entrance for concerts is on the west side of the building (revolving and regular doors). Since its inception in 1975, the hall has functioned as both a classroom and performance facility for Bienen School of Music performing ensembles, faculty recitals, festivals, and professional guest artists.
