Getting to Van Dusen Gardens and Queen Elizabeth Park

Hi,

I’ll be in Vancouver from 21st ay and staying at the Blue Horizon. I would like to visit the gardens and park on the same day.

I’ve been looking at google maps but public transport doesn’t seem to be a good option from where I’m staying. It’s saying 2 or 3 buses. I’m thinking it might be simpler and a lot quicker to use a taxi or Uber. I already have an Uber account set up, is it widely used in Vancouver or would I be better getting a taxi?

Is there an app to book taxis or are there lots of different companies? Can you just flag them down in the street or am I best going to a rank?

Also what’s the best site to use for public transport?? Is google maps fine or am I better using the transit companies site?

I’m a mozzie and midge magnet. Will I need repellant this month fo Vancouver and Victoria? If so what is a good local brand to look out for?

Final question is about the weather. Is it pretty unpredictable? I’m trying to work out which day to book for Capilano and Grouse and so far it looks like it is due to rain every day I’m there. What is the most reliable local site to use?

Sorry lots of last minute questions popping into my head as I finish my packing for my flight tomorrow!

Thanks for all your help so far
