ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The New Mexico Film Office (NMFO) is announcing the feature film “The Lost Bus” starring Matthew McConaughey will be filming in and around Santa Fe, Española and Ruidoso.

The film is a thriller based on Lizzie Johnson’s novel “Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire.” The story is set during a deadly fire in California and told from the perspective of a bus driver and teacher who help navigate children through the madness and chaos of the fire.

“This project will create thousands of jobs for New Mexicans, on and off set, and will showcase regions across the state, including Española and Ruidoso, bringing a positive economic impact to communities statewide,” NMFO Director Amber Dodson said in a release. The production of the film will employ over 2,500 New Mexicans according NMFO.
