I don’t know why, but for some reason it makes me happy to know that in the middle of the great depression, in New York City where things were fucked, there was still enough going on to make something like this happen for kids. I’m sure things were pretty bleak for everyone all around and I think anybody has ever been in that situation or seen their parents in that situation, knows that sometimes home life isn’t the most pleasant.
