Changed Gmail password. Now cannot log onto Gmail via Outlook - Microsoft Community

Changed Gmail password. Now cannot log onto Gmail via Outlook IMAP/STMP account.

My company uses MS Office 365 and my work email is via MS Office 365 Exchange Server account which I use via a local MS Outlook installation on all my computers. On all those computers I also have an IMAP/STMP Gmail personal account I access through my Outlook installations. Yesterday I had to change my Gmail password due to a 'security threat' on the dark web which exposed that Gmail password. Using the new Gmail Password I am able to log onto Gmail via the web, and have verified the new Gmail password is correct. However, when I changed the password for my Gmail account in Outlook it would not connect w/ the Gmail server. I then deleted the Gmail account from Outlook & created a new account w/ the same result. Outlook fails to connect w/ Gmail Server. I have been through all the 'fixes' Microsoft and Google advise but cannot get Outlook to connect to the Gmail server. Note I'm working from home on my home laptop, and not able to access my machines in the office. How do I get Outlook reconnected to Gmail?

Dear MarkPerkinson,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

According to your description, your question is how to sign in to Gmail via Outlook IMAP/STMP account.

You need to change your email account settings. If you have a new password, if your email provider has asked you to change your settings, or if you're having trouble sending and receiving email, you can change your email account settings through Mail or Outlook in the Windows Control Panel.

Note: If your email provider requires dual authentication, enter the generated password they provide instead of the regular password.

If you have a new situation, please let me know and I will be happy to assist you further.
