MANILA, Philippines -- President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday extended his support to Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero, who has taken over the post as the country's new Senate President.

Escudero replaced Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri, who resigned from the position over his supposed failure to follow instructions from "powerful" blocs in the Senate.
